The family animation “Yuku and the Himalayan Flower” sells out in the new Europe

Warsaw-based New Europe Film Sales has struck a series of deals on the feature-length animated film “Yuku and the Himalayan Flower” by directors Remy Dorin and Arnaud Demwink.

The children’s animated feature, with drawings of Paul Table, tells the story of Yuku, a young mouse who lives with his family in the basement of a castle and decides to embark on a mission to find the mythical Himalayan flower.

The film, which premiered at the Annecy Festival and was shown at Locarno Kids Square at the Locarno Film Festival, is produced by Artemis Broads. (“Lower jaw”) and co-produced by Vivement Lundi! (“Escape”), La BoĆ®te Prods. (“March of the Penguins”), Les Films du Nord and Nadassi Films.

Pic has sold to Germany (Eksystent Distribution), Spain, Andorra (Pack Magic), Poland (Stowarzyszenie Nowe Horyzonty), Sweden (Smorgasbord Picture House), Denmark (Angel Films) and Latvia (Riga International Film Festival distribution).

Previously sold regions include France (Gibbeka), Switzerland (outside the box), the Netherlands (Jeff/Periscoop), and Belgium (Le Parc).

“Yuku and the Himalayan Flower” is the latest addition to New Europe’s KIDS brand, a collection of youth-focused content that has been shown at some of the world’s most important film festivals.

The catalog includes the Swedish animated film “Gordon & Paddy”, which was shown in the Generation Ensemble at the Berlin Film Festival; The drama “Summer 1993” by Spanish director Carla Simon, which won the GWFF Award for Best Feature Film at the Berlinale and the Grand Prix in the Gilles Kplus division. and a father and son drama by Israeli director Matan Yair, which was shown in the ACID sidebar of the Cannes Film Festival and at the Toronto International Film Festival.
