Predicted college football rankings for the AP Top 25 in Week 3 after a grueling Saturday with Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and more annoyances.

If there is one complaint about the return of college football last week, it is the general lack of disruption. Outside of Florida that dropped Utah, there was no ranking disruption in the country in the first week. So, naturally, the universe had to make up for that with a totally ridiculous second week slate that saw one ranked team go down one after the other.

Notre Dame and Texas A&M, both in the top ten of the latest AP top 25 college football rankings, lost at home to Marshall and Appalachian State, respectively. Meanwhile, Wisconsin quietly lost within the confines of Camp Randall to Washington State in a shocking fashion before Florida also dropped to Kentucky late into the night.

And if that wasn’t enough, the day nearly started with the biggest upset of them all as Texans nearly beat Alabama’s #1, but Crimson Tide put together one last drive to score the game-winning field goal.

Will that be enough to keep the number one spot in the rankings? Let’s see what the top 25 colleges in the football world rankings have to say about it.

The AP is expected to be in the top 25 of college football after Week 2: No. 25-21

25. Air Hawks

Understanding that the Hawks haven’t exactly played elite competition up to this point, the fact of the matter is Air Force was as dominant in two weeks as it wanted a group of 5 against Northern Iowa and Colorado, getting a 41-10 win over the Buffs on Saturday. This team will be a real problem and contender to capture Mountain West this season.

24. Oregon Ducks

Truth be told, it was probably an overreaction to dropping Oregon from the rankings after Georgia landed the ducks in the first week. Jump into a big introduction early. There is still a lot to prove after the start of the season, but Oregon definitely deserves 25th place.

23. Texas A&M Aggies

In simpler terms, it’s time for Jimbo Fisher to let go of any infatuation with Henz King he has. Texas A&M at Kyle Field has been discontinued by App State. The Mountaineers are a good team, but they are nowhere near the Aggies in terms of talent. However, the attack looked completely weak and unlucky throughout the match. I keep them in the top 25, but barely.

22. Seminoles, Florida

Florida was out this week but you have to respect what the Seminoles did to LSU a little more week ago after the Tigers rebounded to beat the South in a dominant fashion on Saturday. The Noles have their flaws but Jordan Travis has clearly grown as a quarterback and should make the Fifa a tough team to beat this season. At worst, this team will go to the bowl this year.

21. Pittsburgh Panthers

There is no real blemish in what we saw from the house on Saturday. Even with quarterback Kedon Slovis out of the game early, the team still pushed a very good Tennessee team to the limit as the game moved into overtime. They were finally overwhelmed by the extra frame, but it was still a great overall show that didn’t give us reason to believe they were going anywhere as a real ACC factor.
