Facebook will introduce a new way to connect with community chats

Facebook will begin testing Messenger’s community chat feature, allowing users to create a Facebook group and then have conversations using chat, video, and audio channels. Moreover, an added convenience will be the ability to invite people to the community through the Messenger app.

According to Facebook, community chats will allow users to connect in a different way. By discussing topics in real time using text, audio, and video, community members can have deeper conversations that might not otherwise happen with just simple messages. Community chats will seamlessly allow people from Messenger and Facebook groups to come together to have a discussion without waiting. Moreover, the Community Chat Administrator will have the ability to organize the chats into different categories to allow users to find the right topic for them.

Community chats with Facebook

In addition to the new feature, Facebook has also introduced a new set of tools to keep the community safe. Administrators will be able to manage chats and other experiences. If there is a problem with community chats, the admin will have the ability to block, mute, or even suspend a member of the community. If things go too far, the admin can even remove the offending member from the community or group chat. Administrators will also be able to set standards, so if they aren’t enforced when something happens, the rules will still apply, and they’re doing what’s necessary to keep the community in balance. Community chat members will also be able to report members who break the rules to admins and directly to the Meta.

This looks like an interesting feature that will bring more activity to the Facebook platform. While the company announces this new feature, it won’t be rolling out for a few more weeks. Regardless, a new way of connecting will surely revitalize Facebook groups and the Messenger community as well, as there has been stiff competition in this space from others.
