The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal angers Dean Garen with a reluctant flight in Season 3

The MandalorianDean Garen is a simple guy who has been swept up in a much bigger story. Stage Zero host Brandon Davis had a chance to speak with Executive Producer Rick Famoiwa and star Pedro Pascal after the new trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 premiered at the D23 Show in Anaheim over the weekend, and finally made its way online. Famoiwa wrote and directed for The Mandalorian since its first season, but only became an executive producer with the third season. Talk about what it means to be a part of The MandalorianCreative leadership alongside series creator Jon Favreau and Star Wars veteran Dave Filoni.

“I’ve been a part of this world’s storytelling since episode two and what’s been great about how John and Dave collaborate is that they’ve always been inclusive and wanting and being pushed to directors bringing their own perspectives and vision,” Famoiwa says. “And so I’ve been doing that in the episodes I’ve been directing, writing as well, and now just to be able to expand on that into executive production and continue directing, which has been pretty cool. And so, you know, I think we were just trying to tell this simple story.” To a man and his child, and complications are still happening in his life, so whatever I can do to revive it, it has been wonderful.”

Went to talk about how The Mandalorian“Story” is a really simple story about a simple guy that has grown in scope as a byproduct of being set in the Star Wars universe. “That’s what has been great about the operations, how much of their membership is, and that’s, yeah, there are some ideas, I think now, about how they can expand, but I think at first it’s just the simple act of telling that story,” he says. “I think Jon was trying to keep it from getting too big when he first pictured it, but I think it’s Star Wars, it can never be contained. It’s never really about plotting a master plan, but there are a lot of stories that will continue to tell them in Star Wars and some of them have attended through our show.

The largest range comes through The Mandalorian Season 3 trailer, which sees Dean Garen travel to Mandalore and meet up with many other Mandalorians. Pascal asserted that Dean remains a simple man who only wants to be a father to Grogo. “When [Famuyiwa] He says you start with something simple and you keep building around that, I find it wonderful that such a person who insists on simplicity and lives their life in that simple, way, that is the way, I think so, says Pascal: “For someone to discover who they are as much as possible.” The amount of resistance he can muster is a wonderful thing to watch.”

The Mandalorian Filming wrapped into its third season in March. It is expected to premiere on Disney+ in February 2023.
