Bachelorette 2022 finale part 1 recap: Rachel sends home Aven, says goodbye to Zach!

Los Angeles — In the first part of the ‘Bachelor’ finale, we pick up where we left off with the Rose Party in Mexico.

Zack and Rachel say goodbye

Before the rose ceremony began, Zach pulled Rachel aside to speak privately. He already brought up what he said to Jesse previous episode He said he was completely stunned by her concerns about his age and his willingness to be engaged. Rachel replies that she found “clarity” during their date on the set of fantasy and eventually knew something was missing between them. Zach tells her he needs to leave and we watch him ride away sadly. Rachel returns to the other two remaining men and hands out flowers to Tino and Aven.

Back in the studio in Los Angeles, the couple is speaking for the first time since their shocking split in Mexico. Zack apologizes for questioning Rachel’s character. When asked where things went wrong, he said that something immediately stopped when they were in the Fantasy Pavilion. Although things didn’t work out for Zach, he says he has no regrets.

Avene’s meeting with Rachel’s family doesn’t go as planned

Avene meets Rachel’s parents as well as her two best friends. Although the conversation goes well between Avene and Rachel’s father, he gets into some trouble when he talks to her two best friends.

After their conversation, Rachel’s friends tell her that they’re worried that Avene can’t say whether or not he’s ready to get engaged. When Rachel talked to him about it, he told her that he wanted to make sure it was the 100% right decision for them to get engaged, but he had no doubts that they were together. Although he’s just trying to be honest with her, Rachel is confused and upset because she feels like he’s going back on what he said earlier.

Eric meets Gabe’s family

Since he’s the only guy left for Gabby, Erich has the chance to meet her family (even though he’s already met Grandpa John on their first single date).

The family meeting is going so well that Grandpa John says Eric is a “keeper”. Gabe becomes emotional as she talks privately with her aunt about how she has never felt love from her mother. She worries that it will send a message to Eric that she is unloved. Her aunt tells her that if Eric is “the girl” she should reach out and let him see her as weak.

Tino meets Rachel’s family

When Tino walked in to meet Rachel’s family, I think the live studio audience was holding their breath, hoping it would go more smoothly than ever. When Rachel met Tino’s parents. Rachel’s mother expresses her concerns to Tino that his family may not like Rachel, but he replies by saying that he is very confident that they will come.

Rachel’s father, aka “Big Tony,” asks Tino tough questions like how to make their relationship work if Rachel’s job takes her to another country. Tino eventually wins him over for saying he’s committed to making his daughter “happy forever.”

Overall, Tino gets the big stamp of approval from Rachel’s family and friends.

Avene and Rachel’s emotional breakup

Rachel goes to see Avene for another conversation to make sure the two are exactly on the same page. Unfortunately, they clearly are not.

Aven tells Rachel that he wants to make sure their relationship will work outside of the show before he feels ready to get engaged. He admits he may have “fallen into” it all, and Rachel says she was incredibly hurt and misled. Although Aven keeps telling her that he sees a future with her, Rachel wants an engagement at the end of her journey and simply can’t commit to it. This leads the pair to say goodbye. You can see how it all turned out in the featured video at the top of this article.

Back in the studio, they encounter each other again for the first time since their split. Avin says he is sorry for the way things ended between them. When asked if he has any regrets, Avene said he could have been better at communicating. He wanted to fight for their relationship, but unfortunately the timing wasn’t right. Rachel wishes him nothing but the best.

Gabe and Eric’s relationship is in the balance

Although everything seems to be going well with Gabe and Eric after meeting her family, things start to go awry during the couple’s last date.

Similar to Avene’s hesitation, Eric now says he wants to date Gabe in the “real world” and can’t promise a proposal at the end of their journey. She says she doesn’t want to force him to make a decision, but she is clearly very upset with this information.

We are left with Gabi crying and saying she doesn’t want to do this anymore.

Could this be the end of Gabe and Eric? Or will the couple be able to compromise and stay together? Next Tuesday, discover the second part of the season finale of the drama “The Bachelorette” on ABC!
