Child abandoned: Mother accused of leaving 8-year-old on the road after she asked her to slow down while driving, records state!

Harris County, Texas (KTRK) – A mother is accused of leaving her 8-year-old daughter alone in a bank parking lot to fend for herself, according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 2.

Appendix Gonzalez is accused of abandoning and endangering a child with no intention of returning, according to a Harris County clerk’s website.

At about 4:15 a.m. Monday, MPs responded to a missing persons call in the 11500 neighborhood of Grabwood. At the scene, the deputies roamed the area and began searching for the little girl.

As the search for the girl entered the morning hours, authorities received a call at about 8 am from the girl’s father that she had been found.

When authorities spoke to the girl and her father, the 8-year-old said she was with her mother, Gonzalez, who was allegedly drunk and intermittently driving. When the girl asked her mother to slow down, she was told to get out of the car, according to authorities.

Then Gonzalez left her daughter in the parking lot of a bank, where she walked alone in the dark to a nearby gas station to get help, records say.

A gas station employee called the Houston Police Department, as well as another family member who managed to get the girl.

Authorities said a surveillance video from a nearby company confirmed the story.

At about 11:11 a.m., deputies returned to Gonzalez’s home, where she was taken into custody without incident. You exited on a $10,000 bond.

Records show that this is not Gonzalez’s first incident, and in 2007 she was charged with endangering a child.
