Principal photography continues at Marvel’s iron heart, with the upcoming broadcast series casting another role. While that exact role is still being kept secret, new reports suggest that Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola has joined the Dominique Thorne series he leads. A writer turned actress, Olayiwola is currently a writer for HBO south side. Include other credits on her resume UnsafeAnd the black lady drawingAnd the Chicago PDAnd the Late Show.
Olayiwola joins a rock band that includes Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Shakira Barrera, Manny Montana, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Shea Couleé and Zoe Terakes. Sam Bailey and Angrela Barnes share management duties on the project, which was written by Chamber led by Chinaka Hodge.
Not much is known about the series, other than the fact that it will be the character’s second appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after making his debut later this year. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
“I was home in Delaware and got a call asking if I wanted to play the role. It was the best phone call I’ve ever had,” Thorne said. Empire Magazine In an interview last year. ‘I was so shocked, in fact, that there was such a lag in the conversation! (laughs) I was waiting for them to say, like, ‘Oh, we’ll send you sides’ or, ‘Get your tape for us.’ But there was none of that, it was like, ‘Would you like to do this?’ It was probably the most unique experience I have ever had because there was no test at all.”
Ramos is expected to play cult favorite The Hood, adding a sense of mysticism to a tech-based show and Marvel Universe sequel to Iron Man.
