Disney announced the release date of Lion King Prequel Mufasa

When Walt Disney Studios announced that they were developing a rough version of their live events the king lion movie with moon light Director Barry Jenkins is on its head, no one knows what to expect. During last week’s Disney D23 Expo, the studio revealed that the title will be titled prequel Mufasa: The Lion King He stressed that the film will focus on a young Mufasa. They’ve also revealed a teaser that was only shown on the show, which shows Mufasa as a cub and it looks like Timon and Alumna are telling the story. Disney hasn’t announced an exact release date for the project, but has revealed that the movie will be released sometime in 2023, and now we know exactly when it will be released in cinemas. Mufasa: The Lion King It will be officially released on July 5, 2024.

The film will be one of many live-action adaptations of the studio’s animated suite. Mufasa: The Lion King Directed by Jenkins with script by Jeff Nathanson. Aaron Pierre will voice Mufasa in the new film, while Kelvin Harrison Jr. voices The Wicked Scar. Not much is known about the movie but it is expected to be the origin story of Simba’s father.

“I grew up with these characters, they mean a lot to me,” Jenkins explained in an interview last month. “I think the work of writer Jeff Nathanson and back is really helping kids and anyone who has loved this quality understand what it takes. Kings aren’t just born, they aren’t just made. Who they are is through a chain of events that a lot of people can relate to. So, from that point of view, it fits right in with everything else I’ve done. So I don’t feel any pressure, I just want to do well.”

“My clients sent me a lot of texts. When this came out, top secret, I was very skeptical,” Jenkins told Chloe Zhao during a video interview in 2020. “I read the text and about 40 pages in Lulu [Wang] And I said, “Holy, that’s good.” And as I continued reading, I pulled away from the side of my mind that said, “Oh, a filmmaker like you doesn’t make a movie like that,” and let myself get to where these characters are, this story, awesome. What really drove me across the line was James, DP, he said, ‘You know what? There’s something really interesting about this style of filmmaking that we haven’t done and not a lot of people have done. It was when I got back to the powers-that-be and said, ‘I’d love to do this’ But I should be able to do what I do.”

as we mentioned before Mufasa: The Lion King It is expected to premiere in theaters on July 5, 2024.
