Hideo Kojima teases new VR game announcement

Modernization: Hideo Kojima confirmed it’s not a gameRather, experience the virtual reality of the legendary Kojima Productions entrance, where many guests took pictures. The original story continues below.

Hideo Kojima has joked that he’s about to announce a brand-new VR game, much to the surprise of fans. Hideo Kojima is one of the most famous names in gaming, thanks in large part to his work on the Metal Gear series. The Japanese developer is responsible for seeding the stealth action genre in games and polishing it to an incredibly polished level with games like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. One of the unique things about Kojima as a developer is that he absolutely loves to experiment with technology and find new quirks. Everyone who played hard lime metal Knows Psycho Mantis can read your console’s memory card and talk about the games you’ve played, Metal Gear Solid 4 It had an iPod, unique DualShock features (which might explain why it was never ported to other systems), etc.

Of course, it makes sense for Hideo Kojima to explore virtual reality as another key piece of innovative technology. On Twitter, Kojima posted photos of himself using a VR headset and stated that he was doing a final check of the VR game that Kojima Productions was going to show at Tokyo Game Show 2022. It’s entirely possible that it’s only a tech demo to show off what the developer has been able to do with the technology, but it could be there is more. Either way, we can probably expect some news or impressions of all of this in the coming days as the event starts tomorrow, September 15th and runs until September 18th.

Hideo Kojima is already exceptionally busy. Just launched a podcast on Spotify, recently confirmed it’s working with Xbox on a new cloud-based game, and is expected to work on it Death Stranding 2He even showed interest in working in films and television. It remains to be seen if the VR project will be worth it or not, but we hope to see it soon.
