House of the Dragon Star addresses the 30-year gap in sex scenes

The fourth episode of the program Dragon House“King of the Narrow Sea” launched on HBO this week and saw some huge moments for the show’s main characters. Warning: spoilers ahead! Things are getting steamy on Game of thrones The spin-off when Daemon (Matt Smith) took Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) for a spin at King’s Landing. The two ended up in a fun house and engaged in sexual activities that were, well, very Targaryen of them. While the niece and uncle seem to be enjoying themselves, the show cuts into an uncomfortable sex scene between Aliscent (Emily Carey) and King Viserys (Paddy Considine). During a recent interview with NEWSWEEKCarrie, now 19, has spoken about feeling nervous about doing a sex scene with someone over 30.

“We had an intimate coordinator who was great,” Carey explained, and again, when I was 17, the first scene I read from the show was the sex scene and my intimacy scenes, which includes the scene where I bathe the King—anything It was considered an intimate sight, which I thought was wonderful.” They added, “But, it frightened me because at that point I didn’t meet Paddy, I didn’t know how much joy he was and how easy it was to make [the scene]And all I saw was, you know, a 47-year-old guy and I, I was a little worried.”

Carrie continued, “And you have this outlet for an intimacy coordinator, to be able to talk about everything and not get sidetracked, not feel awkward, not feel like ‘Oh, that’s not your job.'” I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable but can I ask you… “It was never any of that, it was just that open dialogue… in the practice room it was a huge help, and on the set it was a huge help. Yes, it was easier Much more than I thought it would be.”

“I think I was still 17 when I started this business, I was 18 when we started shooting but there were a few months in this role being 17 years old. I’ve never seen Game of thrones Before, and so in pre-production I sat down to try and watch [it] And of course the first season, even only the first episode of thronesThere is a lot of violence against women. There was a lot of violent sex and it made me nervous. I was like, ‘Oh my God, what am I going to do on this show?’

“Sure, there were a lot of women behind the scenes, we had a great cast, we had, of course, female directors, and I worked with the amazing Claire Kellner who was fierce, many of the women producing that show as well, and Sarah, one of our writers, among many others. In the writers’ room, I’m sure,” Carrey explained.

You can read HBO’s official summary of Dragon House Here: “The prequel series finds that the Targaryen dynasty is at the height of its absolute power, with over 15 dragons under their yoke. Most empires – real and imagined – collapse from these heights. In the case of the Targaryens, their slow downfall begins nearly 193 years before the events of Game of thrones, when King Viserys Targaryen interrupted a century of tradition by naming his daughter Rhaenyra heir to the Iron Throne. But when Viserys later became a son, the court was shocked when Reinera retained her position as his successor, and the seeds of division sowed friction throughout the world.”

Dragon HouseThe fifth episode of HBO will be available to watch on Sunday.
