Hrithik Roshan, “Vikram Vida” by Saif Ali Khan identifies 100 countries for the first time

“Vikram Vedha” starring Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte is shown worldwide in more than 100 countries, making it one of the biggest openings of a Bollywood movie.

Besides India, the film is being released in regions where Bollywood films are usually shown by day and date, including North America, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand, on September 30. Remarkably, the film will also release the day and date in countries where Bollywood fare is released after its initial run in traditional regions.

“Vikram Vedha” opens in 22 countries in Europe and 27 countries in Africa and Latin America, including Japan, Russia, Panama and Peru, all non-traditional regions of Bollywood.

The film is a remake of the 2017 Tamil hit film Vikram Vida directed by authors and directors Pushkar and Gayatri and starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. Pushkar and Gayatri also helped in the adaptation of Bollywood into Hindi. A new action thriller film inspired by the Indian folk tale “Vikram aur Betaal”, the film tells the story of a stern police officer Vikram (Khan) who sets out to track down and kill a gangster with the same strength as Vida (Roshan). What unfolds is a cat-and-mouse chase, as Vedha, the main storyteller, helps Vikram peel the layers through a series of stories, leading to moral ambiguity.

The film is produced by T-Series and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks, Jio Studios and YNOT Studios. Producers include Bhushan Kumar, S Sashikanth and Bhushan Kumar. Reliance Entertainment has teamed up with Home Screen Entertainment for international distribution of the film.
