Thunderbolts Actors and director tease how the team works together

Over the weekend at D23 Expo, an official word came from Marvel Studios about who will bring the MCU version of Thunderbolts to the big screen. The 2024 movie was announced earlier at San Diego Comic-Con, where it was revealed that it will be the final movie in Marvel’s Phase Five, but who will turn on that team has remained invisible. Those set to appear include Florence B as Yelena Belova/Black Widow II, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent, Hannah John Kamen as Ghost, David Harbor as Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko as Task Manager, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier.

So how will they all come together? The obvious answer is that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine from Julia Louis-Dreyfus will be the one who unites these different corners of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but how and why remains to be seen. “This is one of the primary mysteries,” Harbor told ComicBook.com in an exclusive interview. “I just made a joke about it being like Dungeons and Dragons, where you meet in a bar and it’s like there’s a dwarf drinking a beer and then there it’s like an elves character there, we all meet and then there’s this ghost… It’s not going to happen like that, I don’t think .

He continued, “But I think one of the mysteries of the movie is what their relationship is, and as you say, there’s a lot of exciting stuff and you wrap up the next one in terms of what kind of part of it. The whole universe is in this random and chaotic way. So, you know, we can’t say much. At this point, but they’re an exciting introduction to this team together again, that’s going to be a lot of fun.

Jake Schreyer (paper citiesdirected by the film, while Eric Pearson (Black Widow) It is confirmed that he is the writer. Talking to us, Schreier commented on how to do it Lightning It fits in the MCU’s big picture, especially since it has the coveted place of being the last movie at one point.

“We know the world that we’re playing in and I think what’s really impressive about what they put together is that there’s this, you know, a rich, multi-layered world that can intersect with itself and build toward something that’s kind of not been seen in the same plane before.”

Lightning It is scheduled to open in theaters on July 26, 2024.
