He talks about a very dark past. He talks about doing terrible things for the revolution. We’ll get to know what it means, you know? Tony Gilroy’s writing is really interesting and complex. And I don’t think people know exactly what I’m talking about. Like, I didn’t either. When I read the article and his presentation and ideas, I was like, “Wow, that’s cool.” It’s, in essence, what I had in mind when I was playing the role, but it’s clear how that happens and the specifics and context are so rich and interesting to watch.”

This means that the actor must be involved in the creative process from start to finish, working closely with series mastermind Tony Gilroy on story points. While Luna was welcome to offer ideas of his own, he was the first to hear ideas and tones from Gilroy that he enjoyed so much about the executive role.
“It’s more than just coming to him with ideas that he’s there when he makes decisions and he’s there to bounce with him and chat and be the first to listen to this,” Luna said. “He said to me, once, ‘I’m not going to write something you don’t tell me you like, so I’m going to talk to you and what my thoughts are because I don’t want to keep writing and scurrying in a direction that you don’t think is right because you’re going to have to turn it on. This was a long time ago, you know? There has never been a moment where what he says to me, what has led me to it, what has made me read it, does not impress and excite me in his writing. I really like this guy very much. I am really happy and honored to work with him. It’s really interesting. Everything he writes is so rich that the actor is just pure pleasure to play with his material.”
Andor The first three episodes are scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on September 21, 2022. The first reaction to the first episodes was largely positive from critics who watched casually for the series early on.
