The New York Mets are a relatively healthy team entering the final three weeks of the season and with Max Scherzer likely out injured on Monday, they will be in a better place.
With players out of IL by the end of September, there will be some roster changes before October 1. Also, there will be some key players who may not be with the squad by October 1 and into the final days of the regular season. season.

With Max Scherzer likely out of IL on Monday, the Mets will have to make a list move that will likely come from their show crew. It makes sense that they’d send David Peterson to the minor leagues because he’s one of only two bowlers in the Mets to have minor league options.
Peterson was the team’s fifth starter for most of the season and was a mid-level player in the league (100 ERA+)…but he was terrible in his late starts.
In his last three starts (all in September), he only went 9.1 rounds with an ERA of 10.61. On his last start, he got one in a 6-3 Mets loss. The Mets now also have two left-handed housing and a long deflector in Trevor Williams, so they do not need a left-handed or long housing at the base of the bulls.
