New Xbox update for PC adds tracking of popular games

A new update to the Xbox app on PC has added a very popular game tracking feature associated with Game Pass. While many Xbox users may play on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or Xbox Series S, Microsoft has been slowly looking to boost its platform on PC in recent years. Now, it seems that the gaming giant has managed to achieve this goal in a remarkable way thanks to some additions in this new update.

As part of a new patch for the Xbox app, Microsoft has now rolled out HowLongToBeat With some games that are part of Game Pass for PC. If you’re not familiar with HowLongToBeat, it’s a website that helps track the length of some video games. The site is very popular and many hardcore gamers use it to find out how long it will take to complete certain titles beforehand. In short, this means that games on Xbox Game Pass for PC will now display estimated completion times when viewed on the Xbox app.

“We’ve partnered with HowLongToBeat for a unique feature that makes it easier for you to choose your next PC game – starting today, you can view estimates for how long it will take you to complete a game on the game detail pages for most PC Game Pass games. HowLongToBeat is a community-driven website that specializes in game lengths” , Xbox explained in his speech Blog post. “If you’re in the mood for something you can crush in a day or two, or maybe you’re looking for your next long-term game, you can view game details to help decide what to download and play next.”

In addition to including HowLongToBeat, the Xbox app is also said to be now slightly faster on PC. Compared to the previous version of the software, the Xbox app should now launch 15% faster. Additionally, app performance should be a bit better overall with crashes greatly reduced now. In short, it’s great to see that Microsoft remains committed to improving its presence in the PC space with new updates like these.
