New PS5 console released in 2024

A new report has claimed that Sony is preparing to launch a new model of the PlayStation 5 console simultaneously in 2024. Since the PS5 was first launched at the end of 2020, many fans have been waiting patiently for Sony to reveal a “PS5 Pro” version of the console It’s pretty similar to what we saw with the PS4. And while the new console that’s said to be on the way doesn’t look like it’s going to be the PS5 Pro, it will include some major changes.

according to indoor gamesSources inside Sony have suggested that the next version of the PS5 will arrive around September 2024. This new version of the PS5 is said to feature nearly identical hardware to what appears in the current iteration of the console that can now be purchased. However, the main difference is that Sony will be looking to integrate a detachable drive. It is said that this drive will be able to connect to the PS5 via the USB-C port on the back of the console. Furthermore, Sony will sell these drives as part of a bundle with the PS5 (which should cost more money) or will look to sell them separately.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this news is that it indicates that the digital version of the PS5 will simply become the new base model for the PlayStation console that Sony is looking to build. Although the drives will still be available for use, they are no longer connected directly to the PS5, which could simplify manufacturing on Sony’s end. In addition, it will likely allow Sony to make the PS5 slightly smaller than it currently is.

Assuming all of this pays off, this move is also one that continues to show that Sony is pushing gamers to buy more games in a digital way. While this has already been seen with the release of the PS5 Digital Edition console, it seems that buying games in this way will be a greater focus for Sony over time.

What are your thoughts on this new PS5 version that has been reported? Do you think this is a good plan on Sony’s part? And do you think we’ll still get a PS5 Pro sometime in the future? Let me know your own thoughts either down below in the comments or message me on Twitter at Trustworthy.
