Selma Blair says competing on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ offers her the ‘gift of a lifetime’ as she battles multiple sclerosis!

Los Angeles — Among the 16 new contestants entering the dance floor this season on Dancing With the Stars is actress Selma Blair.

Last fall, Salma shared her experiences dealing with multiple sclerosis by filming a documentary called Introducing Selma Blair. Now she says she grew out of this new challenge.

Blair says a large part of her motivation comes from the show of support she has received since her film came out.

Blair calls this “the new chapter,” not just in healing her, but in finding strength in others. And you get a lot of that power from professional dancer Sacha Farber.

“This is the first time I’ve ever stepped into the spotlight, on set, with a partner, with all of this. It’s something I’ve walked away from to heal and recover, and that’s exactly what the doctor ordered,” Blair said.

“With MS, it makes it difficult,” Farber said. “And we came to see what it would be like, and she was moving, inspiring, not just a lesson. You see someone actually transforming right before your eyes.”

“I think I’m going to move on and then get all that attention to me, from a partner that’s teaching me, that’s the gift of a lifetime,” Blair said.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ airs Monday night on Disney+.

Disney is the parent company of this station.
