Ha! The longest active winning streak in college football enters the fourth week of the season!
Just when you thought you knew what’s going on in the world of college football, did you even know these teams have been on a winning streak, bro?
While most people know Georgia won the National Championship and looked like a wagon during the first three weeks of the season, Dogs only won five games in a row. They lost their only match last year to the Alabama Crimson Tide in a SEC Championship match. Although five wins is a solid streak, there are five programs that Georgia has actually won.

These 13 college football teams have an active winning streak of four or more games at this time.

Well, what do you know? Little Oole Clemson has the longest active winning streak in the ground at nine games. Although the 2021 Tigers went 10-3 a season ago, they have not lost since October 23 in Pittsburgh. The other two Labor Day weekend seasons came to Georgia in Charlotte and North Carolina a few weeks later at the Textile Bowl in Raleigh. Clemson sneaky good.
If Clemson loses at Wake Forest on Saturday (which is entirely possible since Wake is rocking a four-game winning streak, winning the ACC Atlantic title a year ago and returning Sam Hartman to the quarterback in this home game in the early afternoon), the Kentucky Wildcats presumably To have the longest active winning streak. It’s now seven games, but they should beat Northern Illinois.
The UK hasn’t dropped a game since the middle of the season last year. The Wildcats lost three competitive games in a row (in Georgia, in Mississippi vs. Tennessee). They finished the season in a four-game winning streak, including an impressive Citrus Bowl win over unimpressive Iowa State in Orlando. Coastal Carolina, Minnesota and UCLA ride winning streaks from six games.
Interestingly, neither North Carolina State nor UCLA should be on this list, as they were supposed to play in the final season of the Holiday Bowl, but COVID got the best boys out of Chip Kelly. Just look at Bruins Chase Daniel as he works his way towards a six-game winning streak. That might be over soon, but their winning streak is currently longer than Georgia’s flop for the Bulldog!
Among the teams listed by Action Network’s Brett McMurphy, there are a handful that have serious aspirations for the college football game. Georgia, Ohio, Clemson, and Oklahoma are obvious bets, but Arkansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Wake Forest all have an outside opportunity. And let’s be real. We need to start giving Jimmy Chadwell’s boys some love and teal!
By this time next week, Clemson is either riding a 10-game winning streak or Wake has laid out five of them.
