Andor: Obi-Wan Kenobi directed by Ewan McGregor ‘repeated in new Star Wars show’ | movies | entertainment

Earlier this year, Ewan McGregor returned as his Jedi master with Hayden Christensen’s Darth Vader on the Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi. And if new reports are to be believed, it won’t be the last time for Luke Skywalker’s mentor.

Andor premiered on Disney+ today with the first three episodes, and rumors abound that McGregor will play the Jedi Master again in the Rouge One prequel for Cassian Andor.

This would easily make sense in the Star Wars timeline given that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series took place in 9 BBY, nine years before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope.

Meanwhile, Andor’s first season is taking place at 5 BBY, so add a little gray to McGregor’s hair and he can easily make an appearance on the new show. This report previously came from The Illuminerdi, claiming that Obi-Wan has a recurring role on the series.

As for the role a Jedi master in exile could play, the outlet notes that he had a close relationship with Senator Bale Organa, and thus could be a major contributor to Rebellion Intelligence.

Jimmy Smits played the adoptive father of Princess Leia in Episode Two: Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One and Obi-Wan Kenobi – so he is expected to appear in Andor himself.

Since Cassian Andor is an intelligence officer, it certainly makes sense that he would meet with both Organa and Obi-Wan.

Andor’s first season will consist of 12 episodes and will take place across 5 BBY. Meanwhile, Season 2 will see the same amount of episodes ending before the events of Rogue One. The second season will also take place over four years in parts of three episodes of 4-1 BBY.

Andor is now streaming on Disney+.
