Multiple Marvel video games confirmed by EA

Multiple Marvel video games are in the works at EA. After the massive success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel is trying to create a version of this thing in its games. A lot of games already released or in the works aren’t necessarily as interconnected as the MCU, but they go well beyond the mid-budget blockbuster blockbuster games that developers were regularly pumping out a decade ago. Marvel knew that people would support premium games based on their characters and saw a lot of critical and commercial success by allowing Insomniac Games to merge with Spider-Man.

Although Insomniac Games has also been given the keys to play with Wolverine, Marvel allows other developers and publishers to play in its sandbox. Following rumors from the summer, EA today confirmed that its EA Motive studio has been working on the new Iron Man game. As of now, it’s believed to be years away from release, but it’s exciting to know it’s coming. However, this is not the only thing that EA is working on. EA confirmed it Iron Man is in pre-production and is one of the “many” Marvel video games it is working on. Sadly, the publisher hasn’t said what other heroes they’re working on, but there seems to be no shortage of upcoming Marvel games. Of course, it’s already rumored that the EA team in Seattle is working on a new Black Panther game, so this is likely one of those games.

Skydance New Media, a team completely unrelated to EA, is also working on the new Captain America and Black Panther game set during World War II. Black Panther, rumored to be an EA game, is likely unrelated, but if not, it might feature T’Challa. Skydance has been confirmed to feature Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather, as Black Panther means he can be teleported. Only time will tell that all these games are years away from their release!
