In a previous interview with Express.co.uk, Bocelli said of Elvis Presley: “It is undeniable that Elvis had a remarkable talent. He had a gentle voice with a wide range and a soft, enveloping timbre. In addition, he was a very charismatic person.”

King has had so many hit songs over the course of his 21-year career, why did the Italian tenor choose the two classic Love Me Tender ballads and couldn’t help falling in love for a special cover?

Bocelli said: “This duet of Mercury and Caballe certainly was of great importance in terms of the evolution of classical music into the mainstream during those years. I don’t particularly like labels and, as I have said in the past, I find some ambiguity in the term ‘intersection’. It can, and should. Music can be enjoyed by everyone without having to put it in a specific box!”
