Outer Banks season 3 plot and ends season 2
In the season two finale, Pogues hides aboard Cameron’s ship on a mission to rescue Sarah and recover the Golden Cross. They succeeded in the first part and failed in the second. Ward is seriously injured by John B, while Raff and the crew manage to save Cross from falling into the ocean.
With Cleo’s help, the Pogues escape on a raft, but end up on a deserted island. Meanwhile, Carla Limbri is searching for someone who can help her obtain the Shroud, the mysterious cloth with healing powers supposedly hidden in the cross. This person turns out to be Big John, John B’s missing father!
Season 3 of Outer Banks is supposed to follow teens as they make their way to the mainland (and their anxious families). They will not give up the gold hidden in Ward Cameron’s home in the Bahamas or the Cross. The search for the latter – and the cap inside – will likely lead to a reunion of John B and his father.
As co-author Josh Bate said, Entertainment Weekly (Opens in a new tab)“John B’s relationship with his father is a huge topic and his father comes back again and eventually they will meet again and John B has to reconcile his idealized version of his dead father with the reality of his living father. He gives us a lot of objective things for father and son to work with.”
Season 3 will also up the ante on romances. We’d like to have a little more room for teen dramas and teen romance in Season 3, just as a general principle,” EW co-author Shannon Burke said.
