diverse And Nickelodeon meet again at this year’s 10 Animator to Watch event in Los Angeles. The Personal Cocktail and Awards Ceremony on October 6th will celebrate the rising creators of animation who are making their mark in the industry.
This year’s Leading Storytellers category includes: Fawn Veerasunthorn, director of “Wish” (Walt Disney Animation Studios, 2023); Carissa Valencia, creator and presenter, “Spirit Rangers”; Gaston Gordon Montgomery, creator of “Invincible Fight Girl”; Christian Link and Alex Yee, creators of “Arcane”; Niraja Raj, creator, “Meow or never”; Shea Fontana, EP, “Monster High”; Arthur Fong, Art Director, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Chaos; Sergio Valdivia, Stop Motion Painter, “Pinocchio”; Natasha Klein, creator of “Primos”; and Joe Bennett, director, writer and animator, “Scavengers Reign.”
In addition, Pixar Animation Studios filmmaker Domee Shi will receive the 2022 Creative Impact in Animation Award. Shi is one of the most exciting voices in the cartoon. former diverse A recipient of 10 Animators to Watch, she has been instrumental in creating some of the hottest animation features in recent years, including “Inside Out,” “Incredibles 2” and “Toy Story 4.” In 2019, she won an Academy Award for the movie “Bao” which she directed and wrote. This year, Shi’s directorial debut “Turning Red” marks an exciting new climax in her already impressive career. She is also part of Pixar’s creative leadership team, where in her role as Vice President of Creative she participates in making major creative decisions in the studio and advises films in both development and production.

The event will coincide with miscellaneous Feature 10 animators per year, published on October 4th, to highlight the most exciting new voices in animation. The profiles will delve into the creative process of the professionals and highlight new projects we can expect to see from them in the future.
