Model Zack Estrin, missing in space, dies at 51

Writer and television producer Zach Estrine, whose credits include lost in space And the Jailbreak Among many others, he died on Friday, September 23rd in Hermosa Beach, California at the age of 51. Estrine’s cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy. Estrine’s family confirmed his death and honor in a statement, noting that he “loved to make people laugh” and also loved to be a part of “creating these shows that people enjoyed.”

The statement stated (via The Hollywood Reporter). “Best husband, father, son and friend. I love making everyone happy. I love making everyone laugh. I love having him as a writer/producer and being a part of creating these shows that people have enjoyed. But above all, I love his family and friends. Thank you all for being a part of his life and ours.”

Born in Woodland, California and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Estrin attended USC before embarking on his career in entertainment. Estrin served as producer and executive producer for Netflix’s lost in space. He was also the presenter and executive producer of ABC’s the river And the whispersco-creator and executive producer of the network Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. He also worked as a co-executive producer on Fox’s Jailbreak And he had credits on CharmAnd the Dawson’s CreekAnd the real call like that.

“Zack has been our customer for nearly 25 years,” WME President Ari Greenberg said in a statement. “He has had a very successful career and has mentored many writers. We are very proud of all his accomplishments and are so blessed to have called him a friend.”

Estrine is survived by his wife, two daughters, and two dogs, as well as his mother, father, sister, half-brother, and two sisters. Our thoughts are with Estrin’s family, friends and fans at this time.
