Rumor dropped by Microsoft about the new Xbox Series X Console

Microsoft has dropped recent rumors associated with a new model of the Xbox Series X console. Over the past week, a new commercial from Logitech appeared to indicate that a white version of the Xbox Series X could be released sometime in the future. And while that idea has piqued the interest of a number of potential Xbox Series X buyers, Microsoft has now clarified that it has no plans to release a white model for the hardware.

In a new message given to IGNHowever, a representative from Microsoft was quick to drop these theories and rumors associated with the white Xbox Series X console. Microsoft said in this regard, “The white Xbox Series X console for our partner promotional video is not in production. We have no plans to release the white Xbox Series X console at this time.”

So why would a white Xbox Series X console appear in this commercial if Microsoft wasn’t making the console in that color? Well, it looks like this decision came straight from Logitech. In the letter given to the edgeLogitech explained that it changed the color of the Xbox Series X itself to apparently match the color scheme of the ad. That ad in question featured white as the base color, and Logitech clearly doesn’t want the all-black look of the Xbox Series X to disrupt that cohesion. As such, the company simply changed the color of the Xbox Series X to match the aesthetic of the commercials.

It’s clearly worth emphasizing that we may see a white Xbox Series X model appear in the future. Microsoft’s statement only confirmed that the white version of the console is not in production “at this time.” As time goes on, it seems likely that different versions of the Xbox Series X will be released. So if you want to buy a white version of the hardware for yourself, that’s probably something we’ll see soon.
