Lift the colors: Photography in progress Our knowledge means death Season Two: Based on the true adventures of would-be 18th-century pirate Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby), the fan-favorite HBO comedy Max sails with Gentleman Pirate crossing with legendary Blackbeard (Taika Waititi, who directed the series’ premiere and serves as executive producer). In a photo posted to Twitter, star Samba Shot, who plays the ship’s chef Roach, revealed that The Revenge is sailing again as filming for season two takes place in New Zealand. Waititi previously said, “Hopefully we’ll start shooting by October, and we’ll be shooting in New Zealand.” collider. “We shot the last photo in Los Angeles. A weird place to try and do something on the ocean, so we’re going down to New Zealand surrounded by it. That’s one of the things I’m most excited about next year.”

HBO Max describes the second season of OFMD: “After trading the seemingly charming life of a gentleman to an arrogant pirate, Stede becomes captain of the pirate ship Revenge. Struggling to earn the respect of his potentially rebellious crew, Stede’s fortunes change after a fateful run with the notorious Captain Blackbeard, played by Waititi. To their surprise, he finds The completely different Steed and Blackbeard are more than just friendship on the high seas… they’ve found love. Now they have to survive.”
