Secret wars after Deadpool 3?

Marvel fans have had the unexpected treatment of a lifetime with the surprising and no-celebratory reveal that Hugh Jackman will be returning as Wolverine. Deadpool 3. Fans wanted Jackman to dress again as Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as see the actor team up with his real-life boyfriend Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. Now it looks like we’ll do both – but is that all we get?

Since Marvel Studios first announced it Avengers: Secret Wars In the year 2025, there has been endless speculation about how many big cameos Marvel Studios could pack into the movie. The whole premise of the Secret Wars event is that different realities from across the Marvel Multiverse come together in a grand battle for survival in an arena created from bits and pieces of those different fragmented universes. Therefore, it was only natural to assume that a movie version of Secret Wars could borrow actors and characters who have appeared in films and/or TV shows outside of the MCU, with the X-Men Movies Universe being the biggest bet on secret wars Show.

After all, Marvel Studios still has a huge obstacle to overcome, when it comes to introducing the X-Men to the MCU. The franchise slowly but surely introduced the idea that mutations (or at least mutation) exist among humans, allowing people like Kamala Khan, Bruce Banner, and Gene Walters with all the obvious powers that others couldn’t under similar circumstances. It’s a start, but it does nothing to explain how an entire team of mutants like the X-Men exist in the MCU – not to mention an entire community of mutants around the world.

secret wars It has long been seen as Marvel’s best bet to integrate the X-Men into the MCU from a new launchpad. Solving the events of the Secret Wars comic book always sees a kind of sweeping reset, as Marvel literally picks and chooses items from different realities to keep them in the main universe. It’s how Miles Morales finally played in the main Marvel Comics Universe with all the classic heroes (instead of their “Ultimates” variants), and it seemed like a perfectly adequate way for Marvel Studios to either pick former Marvel movie stars for roles in the MCU – or recast characters famous in any new real-life Secret Wars results.

Hugh Jackman’s follow-up to Wolverine’s arc from Deadpool 3 to Avengers: Secret Wars would be awesome — just as it would be fun for Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Professor X, and other Fox X-Men movie actors all as a different kind of secret war. X-Men to theones We got it in Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness and Deadpool 3. Either way: If Secret Wars didn’t have Wolverine Hugh Jackman, now it’s a serious disappointment.

Deadpool 3 In theaters September 6, 2024. Avengers: Secret Wars It will be shown in theaters in November 2025.
