She-Hulk Easter Egg honors one of its most productive comic writers

Through its seven episodes so far, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Take a fun and unexpected twist on the canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Along the way, the show has publicly acknowledged the foundation upon which Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) period comedy is built, with the help of some clever Easter eggs or deep Marvel cuts. The seventh episode of the series was no exception, as one of the main components of the episode was named after a fan favorite Strong woman clerk. The episode saw Jane travel to Emil Blonsky/Abomination’s (Tim Roth) Spa in the state’s north to verify that he’s following his parole terms, which are complicated when she destroys her car in a fight between Man-Bull (Nathan Hurd) and El Aguila (Joseph Castillo Medit). Jen ends up stuck at the resort until a tow truck arrives and picks up her car – and when that happens, she reveals a name that She-Hulk fans will recognize. The truck is owned by Slott’s Towing, and even the truck driver is named Dan or Daniel.

This is clearly a reference to Dan Sloot, who wrote Strong womanRunning solo for most of the 2000s. This run, which focused more on Jin’s double life as a superhero lawyer, inspired many Strong woman Which we’ve seen so far, and created characters like Augustus “Pug” Pugliese (Josh Segarra) and Mallory Book (Renee Elise Goldsberry).

“For me, it was Jon Byrne’s turn on that made me fall in love with the character in the first place,” said lead writer Jessica Gao.
