Twitter doubles down on video and starts a new video watching experience

Twitter is updating its platform, doubling the video size, giving users a new immersive viewing experience and easy access to some of the most popular videos on the platform. The update will be available to iOS users who are currently using the English-language Twitter app.

Twitter users will now be able to watch videos with the platform’s new immersive viewing experience. This view does not require any additional steps, just tap on a video, and it will expand the video to fit your screen, giving you the best possible experience. On top of that, Twitter users can now immerse themselves in an endless stream of videos, thanks to the platform’s new interest in making video discovery easier.

When a video is expanded in the new view, swiping up will reveal a new video. This process can be carried out endlessly, providing users with an uninterrupted experience when content is consumed. Twitter states that if you want to get out of the immersive view, you can just click the back arrow located in the top left corner. In addition to the new offering, the company will implement a new video circuit that will be added to the Explore tab of the platform. The carousel platform will make it easy for users to watch and enjoy the most popular videos on the platform.

While Twitter isn’t really the first choice when it comes to watching videos, it’s easy to see why it’s following this up. TikTok has become a video powerhouse over the past few years, and many companies have tried to emulate some of its core features in order to reap some success. In addition to the new video viewing mode, Twitter has also been busy building a new audio center with its revamped Spaces area that features podcasts. It remains to be seen if any of these changes will produce healthy, long-term results.
