Miles Teller and Kendrick Lamar appear in the first season show 48

This Saturday, October 1, he’ll be celebrating the season 48 premiere of Saturday Night Live and to start things off, he’ll be hosting the season premiere Top Gun: Maverick Actor Miles Teller with guest musician Kendrick Lamar. To celebrate the occasion, the couple clipped the first promos for the new season, and appeared alongside cast member Bowen Yang in the official announcements that you can find below. The hosting duties for Teller will mark his debut, and considering the success of the Top Gun sequel over the summer, we’d likely expect a satirical sketch about Paramount’s hit. On the other hand, Kendrick Lamar will be returning to Studio 8H for the third time as a musical guest.

SNL has already confirmed the first three weeks of the hosts and musical guests. Saturday, October 8th Primetime Emmy Award winner Brendan Gleeson will witness the promotion of his next movie Inisherin from Inisherin, who acts as host, with Willow, daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, appearing as a musical guest. On Saturday, October 15th, he will have a host doing double duty as Megan Thee Stallion is set to not only host the episode but also act as a musical guest. This will be the Grammy Award-winning artist’s second appearance, having previously served as a musical guest when hosting Chris Rock back in 2020.

The new season of Saturday Night Live It will look a lot different to viewers who have been watching the show lately, as a number of the cast members have left in between seasons. Older stars Kyle Mooney, Eddie Bryant, Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon have all announced their departures before the season 47 ends in May. As more were announced they would not be returning, including Alex Moffat, Melissa Felicino, Aristotle Athari and Chris Reed.

Some new faces have already been confirmed with Marcelo Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker appearing as the star players. Among the cast members who will appear to be returning include Sarah Sherman, James Austin Johnson, Bonky Johnson, Bowen Yang, Andrew Desmocks, Chloe Feynman, Keenan Thompson, Cecily Strong, Ego Nodim, Heidi Gardner, Mickey Day, Colin Jost and Michael Che.

Saturday Night Live Season 48 premieres Saturday, October 1, on NBC and Peacock.
