AEW’s Miro appears at Tonight’s Premiere on East New York on CBS

AEW star Miro (real name Miroslav Barnyashev) will be appearing at tonight’s premiere of the new drama on CBS. East New York Sunday night. “The Redeemer” plays Nikolai Dushkin’s character and appeared in the first trailer for the series while being questioned and asked for a lawyer. The Bulgarian star was absent from AEW programming for much of 2022, in part because he’s been taking on acting roles like these.

Between his tenure and AEW booking, Miro wrestled only four times in 2022 and only half of those matches were singles. After months of building a feud with The House of Black, Miro teamed up with Darby Allen and Sting on Everyone is outside Pay-per-view and defeated the villainous trio last month.

Unfortunately, the possibility of future matches quickly faded away as Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews moved away from AEW programming for personal reasons. Since then, he’s gone on Twitter claiming that no one has the “balls” to contend with on Dynamite.

The show’s official synopsis reads, “From the executive producers of ‘NYPD Blue,’ East New York star Amanda Warren as Deputy Inspector Regina Haywood, newly promoted chief of the 74th District in eastern New York – a working-class neighborhood on the edge of Brooklyn in the midst of turmoil. Social. With family ties to the region, Haywood is determined to deploy creative methods to protect her beloved community with the help of her officers and detectives. But first, she has the daunting task of including them, as some question her promotion, others resist her leadership styles. Her team includes her mentor, a seasoned veteran commander. Two-star recipient John Suarez; Marvin Sandford, a highly respected training officer and area expert; Tommy Killian, a detective with some old school curriculum of police; Captain Stan Yenko, Haywood’s sociable and effective right-hand man; Crystal Morales, an intrepid, intuitive detective; Andre Bentley, an intern from an upper-middle-class background; and aspiring patrol officer Brandi Quinlan, the only volunteer to live on a local housing project as part of Haywood’s plan to bridge the gap between police and the community. Youwood has a vision: She and the District 74 team will not only serve and protect their community — they will also become a part of it.”
