Doctor from Not afraid to admit his curious and curvy history, he revisits tales of former doctors and companions with new episodes, audio series, and more. In the near future, this will include the return of the Tenth Doctor to David Tennant, who is confirmed to return alongside actress Donna Noble Catherine Tate in 2023 in the series. The news of Tennant’s return has certainly surprised those fans of the 2005-2010 period on the series, especially since he is still considered by many to be one of the best actors to have played The Doctor. In a recent interview with the BBC, Tennant explained exactly how his new comeback came about – and revealed that it was in fact about the hour of the pandemic era besides that Doctor from A fan base has been built on social media.
“It all happened by chance,” Tennant explained. “[The Doctor Who Lockdown “watch-alongs” is] Where it all started. At a certain time and day, everyone would hit play on a particular episode and some of the people involved in those episodes were tweeting with her. I don’t tweet but my wife helped me.”
According to Tennant, these hours with him, Tate, and return to the show Russell T. Davis led him to remember the script, and eventually decided it would be fun to come back.
“[We] They were just a text exchange and Katherine said, “Wouldn’t it be fun to do that again?” We could do once, maybe they let us,” Russell said. We said, “Yes that would be a laugh,” and then it was quiet. Suddenly Russell tells us he’s been running the show again and he’s going to be back in full power and are we going to come and play a little for him? So I don’t know if we gave him the idea to take it Doctor from Again but surely we thought that if he was doing that, we couldn’t let these guys have all the fun.”
Back to Tennant and Tate he is a doctor Ncuti Gatwa takes the lead as the 14th Doctor. They are joined by Neil Patrick Harris as a mysterious villain, although some fans believe they have discovered his identity. There’s also the new character Rose, played by Jasmine Finney, Heartstopper.
