Fotini Paraskakis launched the Asian content company Arcadia Empire

Veteran Media Director Fotini Paraskakis launched Empire of Arkadia, an Asia-focused content company. The company expects to unveil its first listing in time for MIPCOM later this month.

Joining Parasakis on the project is CEO of Japanese Media Shigeko (Cindy) Chino, former President of Discovery APAC and President of EMEA, Arthur Bastings.

The trio describes Empire of Arkadia’s mission as bringing Asian-inspired stories, in both the written and unwritten sectors, to the international stage. They will lead “with redirecting stories that speak to younger generations.”

“This is the perfect time to launch a company focused on content for future generations; this is truly an exciting and transformative period in the content industry,” Paraskakis said in a prepared statement. Full on meeting the demands of Generation Z content, stories that speak to audiences around the world and that will stay with us all as we move into the future.”

Paraskakis previously had an M.D. from The Story Lab. Her previous incarnations include MD Asia for the Endemol Shine Group and Head of Content at Fremantlemedia. Over the course of 30 years, it has led over 450 content deals across Asia and internationally, including “Ninja Warrior”, “MasterChef”, “Big Brother”, “Deal or No Deal”, “Fear Factor” and “The Bridge” “Humans”, “Idols”, “Got Talent” and “The X Factor”. “

Chino is a former Associate Doctor of International Business Development at Nippon TV. She was responsible for brokering deals on the show including “Shark Tank” and “Old Enough!” and “Block Out,” text string “Mother,” and “Your Home Is My Business!” and “woman”.

Since leaving Discovery, Bastings has run a startup acceleration company out of Singapore and California operating at the intersection of media, gaming and technology. Its sponsorship includes Mighty Bear Games, a number of notable founders and two deep tech projects focused on Web 3.0.

Empire of Arkadia has launched with offices already established in London, Singapore and Tokyo. More outposts are scheduled to open in Seoul and Los Angeles in early 2023.
