Those four coaches, including Matt Roll of the Carolina Panthers, didn’t perform well in Week 4, and their job security should be called into question.

The 2022 NFL season has entered its fourth week. The Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals faced off Thursday night, and all but two teams played all day Sunday. There was some separation between good teams, mediocre organizations, and totally bad rosters.

When it comes to some teams, you can kind of feel that even with 13 more games remaining on their schedules, it’s going to take a lot to turn things around. So much so that there may be no hope.

However, some changes will be made. Perhaps the biggest domino to fall into the hands of any team is for them to part with their head coach. When it comes to trainers who may be more at risk after the fourth week, these three candidates stay put.

HC Carolina Panthers

Matt Rowley was the coach with the hottest seat entering the 2022 season. After wrapping around the Temple and Baylor football programs, Rhule has been garnering love from the NFL teams. In 2020, the Carolina Panthers basically made sure Rhule didn’t hold a scheduled meeting with the New York Giants by signing him to a whopping seven-year contract worth $62 million. Rhule has been described as the NFL’s next head coach, and initial reactions were that the Panthers won the lottery by hiring him.

Well, the honeymoon period is over. After two subpar seasons, it was up to Rhule to show he’s the man to turn things around. The roster is talented on both sides of the line of scrimmage, but they just can’t put it together. It certainly didn’t help that they hadn’t had a solid answer in the middle since Rhule’s arrival.

In Week 4, the Panthers lost 26-16 to the Arizona Cardinals, having taken a 10-3 lead before the break. The team couldn’t get anything going in attack, only gaining 220 yards and making only one trip to the red zone. Meanwhile, the Cardinals reached the red zone five times.

With this latest loss, the Panthers under Rhule are now 1-26 when their opponent has scored at least 17 points, and have lost 24 games in a row when that happens, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

If the Panthers don’t turn things around soon, Rhule may find himself out of the Carolinas soon. He may be the first coach to give him up in the 2022 season.
