Halloween is upon us, which means it’s the perfect timing for T West’s “X” and David Cronenberg’s “Future Crimes,” two of the year’s best new horror movies, to hit streaming platforms. But that’s not all this scary season. Contemporary horror favorites such as “The Witch” and the gory “Evil Dead” are also returning to air in time for Halloween, while Hulu brings a whole new reimagining of the “Hellraiser” series. In other words, there will be no shortage of scary movies to air this Halloween season.
Elsewhere on stream in October, James Bond fans get the best treatment as all 25 movies in the long-running franchise are now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Meanwhile, Netflix is kicking off awards season with its debut as an official Oscar contender in Germany, a bold new film based on All Quiet on the Western Front and animated rival Henry Selick and Jordan Peele’s “Wendell and Wild.”
