“Til death do us part” is the haunting tune from director Jason Moore’s upcoming “Shotgun Wedding,” which combines the genres of action, romance and comedy in 100 minutes of action-packed content.
Prime Video has dropped the online (TK) trailer to promote the film ahead of its expected international premiere on January 27, 2023.
Singer Jennifer Lopez and singer Josh Duhamel co-star as an engaged couple, who are about to get married when the entire wedding is held hostage by criminals. The couple then must overcome the bumps in their relationship to save their friends and family.
The newly released trailer features a sneak peek of singer-actor Lenny Kravitz, who oozes excitement from the mix of steam and bloodshed to come.
The decision to choose Lopez was not surprising given that the genre-bending image represents the second consecutive Wedding Film. Her first movie was Universal Pictures’ “Marry Me”, a musical romance that was released in theaters in February 2022.
Duhamel, known for playing Colonel William Lennox in the “Transformers” franchise, was recast for the lead role opposite Lopez after Armie Hammer – who initially landed the role – was accused of sexual assault.
Shortly after Hammer’s departure, the Lionsgate Motion Pictures Group confirmed the addition of cast members such as Sônia Braga and Jennifer Coolidge, who had recently won an Emmy for The White Lotus on HBO Max. The roster of actors has since evolved to include other notable celebrities such as Kravitz, Kaley Hernandez, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan and Steve Coulter.
In collaboration with Lionsgate, “Shotgun Wedding” will be available to stream in more than 86 countries and regions upon its release. Watch the trailer below.
