Matt Reeves Batman He went through many shifts in casting when making the critically acclaimed film. It’s clearly been a lengthy audition process for many, with many actors like Jonah Hill approaching various roles in a dark new film on the Caped Crusader. In the end the perfect cast was assembled, with many acclaimed actors giving great performances. One such actor was Barry Keoghan, who blew fans away with one series (plus a deleted scene) where he played The Joker. But it was recently revealed that The Joker was not the character Keoghan originally auditioned for.
this week British GQ They got Keoghan’s audition tape and released it to Batman on Twitter. Performance is something closer to orange orange, where Keoghan appears to be directing Malcolm McDowell in a very unique performance as The Riddler. Check out the video below:

While this is certainly intriguing for the iconic character, it’s clear that Reeves wanted to go in a different direction with The Riddler. in Batman, the character is reimagined as a chronic online anarchist, who wants to watch the world burn through a series of puzzles and clues. Keoghan’s performance is intimidating and silent, allowing his body language to guide the character. Paul Dano, who was chosen for the role, is more tense and boisterous, with his grotesque performance of “Ave Maria” one of the most memorable scenes from the movie. This version of the character is inspired by the Zodiac Killer, and Dano’s previous performance appears to be closer to what the director wanted for the role.
However, it was clear that the director and Reeves liked Keoghan’s audition tape. The Dunkirk The star was tapped to play the iconic role of The Joker. While the role was somewhat of a cameo in Batman The end of the film offered space for Keoghan to return as a character in a possible sequel. Even from the little snippet we’ve seen of the actor, fans can already tell that he might be one of the best actors to ever play the iconic character. He has a lot to achieve, as the role has already won various actors an Academy Award. But he clearly understands the peculiarities of the character. I can’t wait to see more of it.
Batman 2 It’s officially happening, and last month saw the writing team confirm, so it might not be long before fans see Barry Keoghan return to the famous character. While the movie’s story has yet to be revealed, Paul Dano has teased his interest in returning to his character. Perhaps we can count on another amazing interaction between The Joker and The Riddler as prisoners of Arkham Asylum. Fans are already theorizing about what Keoghan could look like in the long-awaited sequel, so the actor clearly has audience support.
