After recently announcing the full details of PlayStation Stars, Sony has officially rolled out the rewards program this week in North America and South America. Through this program, PlayStation users can get rewarded for things they might have done anyway, such as playing or buying different games. Some rewards are less motivating and include things like digital collectibles (which are not NFTs, Sony has specified) while other options include full games or PlayStation Store credits to fund your next purchases.

You’ll be asked to sign in, and while you can view your basic stats like PlayStation Stars loyalty level as well as points earned through the website, Sony really wants to have the PlayStation app to get the most out of PlayStation Stars.
And after downloading it to check it out, this is probably the best idea. The dedicated PlayStation Stars in-app page includes the same basic stats as well as three separate tabs for campaigns, rewards, and collectibles. The “Campaigns” tab shows the different challenges of the types that are running at any given time and the rewards they offer. Some of them like “October Check-in” ask people to play any PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 game. Doing so will result in a “PlayStation Tech Demo Tyrannosaurus Rex,” a digital collectible meant as a response to a tech offer From the original PlayStation. Other, more demanding campaigns ask players to purchase games for 50 PlayStation Stars.
These points can be redeemed in the rewards section of the app for things like digital collectibles that cost around 200 points for the “rare” category. You can also buy entire games this way. Pregnancy worship It costs 6250 points while other games like quarry It costs 17,500 points. When you buy something this way, you can then view your collectibles through the Collectibles tab.
Nintendo got its own Platinum points system, and the Xbox already had tasks for users to do, so this seems to be Sony’s answer to these types of software. For those who are interested in seeing where it goes, it makes sense to go ahead and enroll in the program to start earning things while you’re already playing.
