According to the Coast Guard, the boat may have been disabled and taking water near Saint Leon off Eagle Point.

At 5:30 AM, a helicopter crew was able to locate the boats 1,500 yards off Eagle Point and directed the search crew to rescue them.

Galveston Police Department boat crew helped secure the boat parallel to the pier at Eagle Point Marina in St. Leon.

“If you’re heading into the water, please remember to provide a flotation plan,” said Jay Schroeder, Houston-Galveston Sector Command Officer. “These two men were incredibly lucky to have been found. The quick release of our assets and the teamwork of our crews helped in timing this rescue.”
