Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is providing ComicBook.com with an exclusive first look at a clip of Batman and Superman: Super Sons BattleAn animated feature film scheduled for release later this year. The film, which has its world premiere at New York Comic Con on Friday, features Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne, together against a Starro invasion, where the Justice League (including the couple’s parents) comes under the control of an alien. The film also features the appearances of The Flash, Martian Manhunter, and members of the Teen Titans, some of whom have yet to be seen since the DC animated world remade its continuity after the events of Justice League Dark: Apokolips War in the year 2020.
The story itself isn’t drawn directly from the comics, but the dynamic of Jonathan Kent and Damien Wayne was likely heavily inspired by animator and animator Peter J. Tomasi, who wrote a fan favorite. super sons Series with artist Jorge Jimenez during DC’s 2016 Rebirth Initiative, a line-wide publishing push that took the company out of the New 52 era.

Batman and Superman: The Super Sons battle begins when 11-year-old Jonathan Kent discovers he has superpowers, and pushes half of Krypton into a complex world of superheroes and supervillains – who are now under attack by a sinister alien force known as Starro! It’s a race against time as Jonathan must join forces with killer-turned-wonder Damian Wayne to save their parents (Superman and Batman) and save the planet by becoming the Super Sons they are meant to be!
Jack Dylan Glazer (Shazam!, Luca, It) and Jack Griffo (The Thundermans) lead the role of Jonathan Kent and Damien Wayne, respectively. The supporting cast includes Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Batman: The Long Halloween) as Batman / Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham (critical role, Sofia the First) as Superman / Clark Kent, Laura Bailey (Fox Machina Legend, Naruto: Shippûden ) as Lois Lane, Darren DePaul (Overwatch, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge) as Lex Luthor & Starro, Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Green Arrow & Penguin, Zeno Robinson (Big City Greens, Pokémon) as Jimmy Olsen & Melvin Masters, Nolan North (Anonymous video game franchise, Young Justice, Pretty Little Liars) as Jor-El, and Myrna Velasco (DC Super Hero Girls, Star Wars Resistance) as Wonder Girl & Lara.
Batman and Superman: Super Sons Battle It is scheduled to be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on October 18.
