Warning: SPOILERS for Andor The episode “Forget the Ax” awaits us!
When one thinks of Lucasfilm, two perks should immediately come to mind: star Wars And the Indiana Jones (Although bonus points if you also consider willow). The Indiana Jones The films included a handful of star Wars Easter eggs (among others) over the decades, including hieroglyphs C-3PO and R2-D2 spotted in Raiders of the Lost Astronomy The nightclubs at the beginning Temple of Death Being called Club Obi-Wan. On the other hand, the last episode of Andorwhich Disney+ subscribers can stream now, featured the adorable Indiana Jones Easter egg, which directly calls out the second installment of the movie series.
At the end of “The Ax Forgets,” we briefly meet Stellan Skarsgård, Luthen Rael, a rebellious agent who met Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor in “Reckoning” and puts him back on the mission run by Faye Marsai Phil Sarth. As Luthen plays with his radio and anxiously awaits an update on how the job is going, we see some artifacts on the shelves behind him in his Coruscant shop, and if you look closely to the right of an actor, you’ll see two familiar orange stones in the corner.
Yes, these are actually a pair of Sankara Stones from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. There were five of these stones in the 1984 movie, and it was Mola Ram and the Thuggee cult intending to use them in their infamous scheme. At the end of the Temple of Death, lost all but one of Sankara’s stones, and Dr. Henry Jones Jr., Willie Scott and Short Rhubarb brought her back to her rightful home with the people of Maipur village. Now we know that at least two Sankara Stones are in star Wars universe, although they have the same mystical properties? You know what, I’m thinking about this, let’s be happy about it AndorThe prop team threw this Easter egg at star Wars Viewers of the eagle-eyed show.
Full disclosure, this is not the first Indiana Jones Easter egg that is included in Andor. In the episode “Aldhani,” the first time we visited a Luthen Rael store, one of the shiny artifacts included an Indiana Jones whip, albeit covered in carbonite. Is this on Indiana Jones Easter eggs in AndorOr is there more to come? Can we see the Ark of the Covenant or the Holy Grail in Luthen’s shop or on one of the planets Cassian visits?
