NBA star Dwight Howard has been making a lot of noise in the wrestling world since attending SummerSlam, where he put in an excellent show against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. And now it looks like the ball is in Howard’s court. In a recent interview with all smokeHoward talked about his potential future in WWE and his passion for wrestling, even revealing his nickname Randy Savage. He also said that if he jumped to WWE, he would go straight to win the title.
“I would definitely enjoy being a real wrestler like that. My whole life, growing up as a kid, my brother and I wrestled. [Hulk Hogan]. My nickname is Randy Savage. So, that’s right there telling you how much I love wrestling. I really enjoy the crowd. I enjoy entertaining people. I enjoy fans and things like that. “It’s crazy,” Howard said.
“I went to SummerSlam this summer, and got a chance to do some wrestling promotions. There was Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. I just became the new CEO of WWE and did my own promo and they were like, ‘Man, this was the best promo in the experience. The whole thing, man. Do you really want to wrestle? “I was like, ‘I think it’d be cool.’ The strongest thing, though, is that I can do anything. It’s the most powerful tool I own. So if a wrestling could happen, man, I’d go get that belt.”
As for whether he’s going to be a cuddly face or a heel, Howard wants to walk the line between them. “I’d be both,” Howard told TMZ Sports. “I’ll be the good guy sometimes and I’ll be the bad guy sometimes.”
Howard’s promo ended well with the SummerSlam rehearsals, and Triple H appears to be open to the idea of Howard being in WWE, so it looks like this is something that will happen sooner rather than later, but we’ll keep you posted on what happens next.
