Houston, Texas (KTRK) – Police are searching for a gunman after shooting a man and woman while they were sitting in a car in the greater Eastwood area overnight.
The shooting took place just before midnight at 1100 Block of Dumbbell Street near Park Street.
The woman was found with a wound to her back and possibly the back of her head. First Lieutenant Isaguirre of the Houston Police Department said it was unclear if she was hit by a bullet or grazing.
Police said the man was hit in the side.
Investigators said it was unclear whether they were shot by someone from another vehicle or by someone walking down the street.
The officers said they found more than 20 shell casings in the area.
The Department of Public Health said the man and woman stormed the parking lot of a recording studio company for help after the shooting. They were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.
Investigators had no information on a possible motive or description of a suspect.
Police were looking for witnesses and surveillance video in the area.
