LeAnn Rimes has been named the newest recipient of the ASCAP Golden Note Award. With this award, the singer-songwriter will participate in a presentation and interview for ASCAP Experience 2022 which will be broadcast online on the performance rights organization’s YouTube channel on October 12.
The ASCAP Lifetime Achievement Award is given to “songwriters, composers, and artists of various genres who have achieved extraordinary achievements in their careers.” Rhimes follows in the footsteps of previous recipients including Tom Petty, Alicia Keys, Garth Brooks, Blondie, Doran Doran, Alan Jackson, Lauren Hill, Lionel Richie, Lee Ann Womack, J.D. Suther and Greg Kurstin.
The video presentation will include testimonials and tributes from Reba McIntyre, Diane Warren, Mickey Gayton, Rob Thomas, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Choir, David Gray and Aloe Black, and an award presentation by ASCAP President, acclaimed songwriter Paul Williams. These clips will be followed by an interview with Reims diverseChris Wellman.

In “The Story So Far: Celebrating More Than 25 Years of LeAnn Rimes,” Rimes and Willman will discuss her rise from a barely-teenage phenomenon to a celebrity songwriter and superstar singer, with the story reaching its climax — so far — in the release of her new album “Action”. Allah”. This latest acclaimed effort takes the artist, who has previously achieved massive successes in both country (“blue”) and pop (“how do I live”), into a blend of pop, cosmopolitan and Americana styles that she calls “Akana World”. “
The honor from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers follows other awards that Rimes has received over her 26-year recording career, including two Grammys (her first 14, when she was the youngest solo artist ever to receive her first), and 12 Billboard Awards. for music (as she became the first country artist to win Album of the Year), two CMA Awards, three ACM Awards, two World Music Awards, and a pigeon. For her charitable work and social activism, Reims has also received the Equality Ally Award from the Human Rights Campaign, the Hope Award for Depression Advocacy, and the ACM Humanitarian Award.
