Number 10: Wolverine #1 | MARVEL | 1982 | It took eight years for the Canadian, aka Wolverine, to have his own series. Eight years! And a limited series no less! Lesser-known characters appeared with more. However, four issues didn’t stop Wolverine from cementing his grip on the comic’s fanbase. But baby, this series came out swinging, with great storyline from Chris Claremont and celebrity art from Frank Miller. There is a reason why Wolverine is a favorite of so many, and this book mostly started. We tracked it on a high sell of $800 for 9.8 CGC with a raw NM FMV of $145.
number 9: Wolverine Annual ’99 #1 | MARVEL | 1999 | One of the many great fights between the two Weapon X projects, this one is at the top for many. It was Deadpool’s main game, with jokes for days and an arsenal to match. When Wolverine decides when to pay Deadpool after he punched Kitty Pride in the face in their previous fight, they throw up. Some werewolves get involved, another guy turns into a regular werewolf after breaking some laws, and yes. It’s weird. embellished. It is wonderful. It’s the nineties. This was an important introduction for many to Deadpool, as young Wolverine fans were fascinated by Merck’s mouthful adorableness. Not to mention, fans in this day and age have been able to pick up copies relatively cheaply before the news. We tracked it at a high sell of $127 against a CGC 9.8 and a crude NM FMV of $23.
number 8: Wolverine #1 | MARVEL | 1988 | Marvel was back in the day. A full 14 years after his debut in Hulk #181, Wolverine finally has his first continuous solo series. What an incredible journey of character for sure. While his fans have always included this book in his collection of early keys, he certainly took a fifth or even sixth violin for some of his outstanding books. Relatively achievable and sporting a great new villain and Wolverine’s overall story and development, this book has always been a favourite. With the latest news, it just got more than that! We tracked it on a high sell of $550 against a CGC 9.8 and NM FMV of $82.
number 7: Disney Kingdoms: Figure #1 | MARVEL | 2014 | Deadline recently reported that, “A Disney movie in the works features the character of Figment, a small purple dragon who serves as the mascot for the fantasy pavilion at Epcot in Orlando. This feature kicks off Seth Rogen’s Point Gray with Dan Hernandez from Pokémon Detective Pikachu, and Benji Samit is set to write , and the deadline knew.” We tracked it down on a high $30 sale of a NM raw copy. The 1:25 And the 1:50 The covers of Figment’s first comic appearance are trending.
Number 6: New screws #98 | MARVEL | 1991 | Deadpool is back in the news, you say? Yes, as well as his debut! Deadpool’s debut saw a massive boost during the Covid comic boom before it once again headed into more affordable territory over the past year. However, that may not last long, thanks to the recent announcement of the third movie in the franchise. Not only does its third round mark the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, it will also be the first time that Merc with a Mouth has appeared in the MCU. What a proud daddy Rob Liefield must be. The community is very excited, which quickly makes this one the most awaited movie at the moment. We tracked it on a high sell of $1600 for a CGC 9.8 and NM FMV crude at $380.
no 5: Wolverine #155 | MARVEL | 2000 | This book is Prime Minister Rob Layfield. An in-house artist, cover artist, and writer, this book had his name everywhere. Suitable for Deadpool game creator. Boy, are you attending an A game with this epic cover and “All Along the Watchtower” story featuring another match between Deadpool and Wolverine. Not necessarily a hero or a villain yet, Deadpool was still in development. With this announcement, fans and collectors have been capturing every encounter between the two giants as best they can, including some reasonably priced books like this fun Liefeld for McFarlane’s Incredible Hulk #340 cover. We tracked it down at a high sale of $275 for $9.8 and NM FMV Raw $81.
Number 4: Wolverine #154 | MARVEL | 2000 | Part 1 of Liefeld’s story “All Along the Watchtower” and the previous book to our previous entry, we have another match between the mutants. After they parted on good terms in their last meeting (Wolverine Annual 1999), the two get into a brawl, and another epic battle ensues. This time around, Deadpool takes control of our short-haired best friend of Wolverine after they’ve been matched relatively evenly. We tracked it down at a sale of $140 for a raw CGC 9.8 and NM FMV for $24. Another affordable “key” concerns Deadpool and Wolverine.
Number 3: X-MEN Premium Edition – TOYS R US #1 | MARVEL | 1993 | Several sources cite this as the first encounter and battle of Deadpool and Wolverine. So, we took our copies and read them together as a team. First, it appears to be continuous. It features the first meeting of Deadpool and the X-Men. Deadpool appears in nine panels as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and interacts directly with the Cyclops and Gambit. However, here there is no interaction (verbal or physical) with the Kick, Deadpool and Wolverine. These points created a gray area and left room for discussion. Does it matter if they are in the same room together, fighting? One of the panels shows Deadpool among the X-Men, deciding to withdraw from the fight, while Wolverine in the far background fights Point. What do you think? Is this your first meeting? The market clearly favors Wolverine #88, with its cool cover and case dedicated to both Deadpool and Wolverine to talk and fight. However, this book was still able to gain a lot of traction due to its secondary primary status of officially meeting the X-Men. It doesn’t hurt that this also had a much lower buy at around $4 last week. We tracked it with a high sell of $110 against $9.6 and a current crude FMV of $11.
Number 2: Star Wars: Doctor Avra #24 – Riki Yagawa | MARVEL | 2022 | The Star Wars lore is constantly growing, giving the fandom more research, talk, and gathering as time goes on. With the release of this book, we received the first appearance of the Dark Seekers, members of the Sith who were wielding a red lightsaber. Many may confuse them with detectives, but they stand apart. The Dark Seekers aims to protect the Sith from other threats rather than hunting down the Jedi while also aiming to eliminate Ascendant, even the villains worse than the Sith, in a variety of ways. It’s a great addition to the Star Wars canon and a must-have for fans. We tracked it down on a high $30 sale of an initial NM+ and $17 NM FMV.
No. 1: Wolverine #88 – Deluxe Edition | MARVEL | 1994 | This week, the internet was open when DEADPOOL 3 was announced and the inclusion and return of Hugh Jack’s Wolverine. This unexpected news made sense to follow up on D23 as it would have overshadowed the entire event. And they knew it. While Deadpool and Wolverine’s flagship books are seeing rapid sales, this issue has received a lot of attention. why? Well, you probably know by now, but this issue features Wolverine and Deadpool’s first live encounter and battle. We tracked a massive 296 copies sold (in just 4 days) with a high sale of $810 against CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $115.
