Houston crime: Fight with girlfriend’s coworker leads to deadly shooting of man at apartment on Overbrook Lane, HPD says!

Houston, Texas (KTRK) – A man was killed in a shooting inside an apartment in West Houston – while a child was sleeping near him.

The shooting occurred at an apartment complex at 12400 Block Overbrook Lane near Ashford Hollow Lane around 10:10 p.m. Thursday.

When Houston police arrived, they found a man with two or three gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said the victim’s girlfriend lived in the apartment.

She was at her apartment Thursday night with a co-worker who investigators said was the wanted shooter.

Police said the victim climbed into the woman’s apartment, though it was unclear whether he was allowed in or broke into her.

Once inside, a confrontation erupted between the victim and the woman’s co-worker, when the suspect drew a gun.

Investigators said the victim was hit twice, although four shell casings were found at the scene.

A few meters away, the woman’s 5-year-old child was asleep.

“We were told he was asleep, and the baby was there, but he was asleep at the time,” said Lieutenant Issaguerre.

The woman and child were not infected.

Police said the shooter left the scene.

The woman knows the suspect, so investigators said they hope to track him down.
