Houston, Texas (KTRK) – The Houston Police Department is investigating a speeding car shooting that injured a man in southwest Houston on Friday.
Police said the shooting occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. at 8700 Block in Justin Lane, near Pricewood Street.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with a bullet wound to the leg.
HPD officers said they provided assistance by placing a tourniquet until paramedics arrived.
The man was said to have been walking past the Wesley Gardens condominium complex when an unidentified car drove past it, opened fire and fled, according to the Department of Public Health.
According to HPD, the motive behind the shooting is currently unknown.
Police said the victim was taken to hospital in a stable condition, but that he is expected to survive.
