Premiere of ‘Fire Country’ on CBS

One of CBS’s exciting new prospects for fall — the CBS Studios/Bruckheimer Television drama “Fire Country” — got off to a solid start on its streak Friday. The show also helped boost CBS’ livestream numbers compared to a similar fall on Friday night premiere in 2021.

“Fire Country,” an action-drama about California firefighters, opened to 5.74 million viewers at 9 p.m., according to Nielsen. The series was built on his lead on “SWAT” by a large margin, with the sixth season premiere of the police drama attracting 4.6 million viewers at 8 p.m.

CBS wrapped up the night with “Blue Bloods” that captured 6.1 million viewers with its 13th season premiere at 10 p.m., and CBS took the bragging rights Friday in total linear viewers with an average of 5.5 million viewers.

On streaming platforms, “SWAT” is up 4% in streams via Paramount+ and on CBS-certified streaming partners, according to statistics provided by CBS. “Fire Country” made 14% more streams than the performance of Season 4 of “Magnum PI” last year. “Blue Bloods” gained 12% to hit a new high on the live stream.

“Fire Country” starring Max Terriott, Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcela. The series tells the stories of Northern California firefighters, including inmates who trade work for time off from their sentence, and who are in the midst of the battle against climate change and the growing threat of year-round wildfires from the Golden State. Tia Napolitano serves as a show producer and executive producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Kristi Ann Reed, Jonathan Littman, and David Gray.
