Child abuse: Foster mother Sharon Angela Cooper, 57, arrested on felony charges of injury to a child after foster son made outcry!

Cypress, Texas (KTRK) – A woman has been arrested for allegedly injuring her 11-year-old adopted child, which sparked a protest at the school, according to Harris County 5 officials.

Representatives have arrested Sharon Angela Cooper, 57, on felony child injury charges after her adopted son arrived at school and told a guidance counselor that he was assaulted by Cooper, according to officials.

There was a review of the victim’s injuries, and officials also viewed a video of the alleged incident prior to Cooper’s arrest.

According to PCt. 5 deputies, Cooper had four other adopted children in her home located in the Cypress area.

Since then, Child Protection Services has removed all five children from her care.

The indictment documents state that Cooper poses a danger to the child; Therefore, the judge denied the low bond.

Records show Cooper has posted a $7,500 bond and is expected to appear in court on Monday, October 10.
