Black Panther has another MCU blockbuster on the horizon with Wakanda Forever. The first wave of pop characters based on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever launched during the SDCC back in July, but we’re getting our first good look at a new Black Panther costume thanks to Funko. Well, we actually got the good looks last month thanks to the leaks, but today is the day you can actually book one. Of course, the question is – who is under the mask of the new black panther? The tags are on top of the suit lineup with the tags placed in the original film Shuri (Leetitia Wright), so it seems likely that she’ll pick up where her brother T’Challa left off. This step will also follow a precedent set by the comics. Shuri became the Black Panther in the 2005 series of Reginald Hudlin and Junip Romita, Jr. after T’Challa was wounded in battle.

In “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “In Marvel Studios”, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fought to protect their nation from the interference of world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. The film stars Tenoch Huerta as Namor, the king of a country hidden under the sea, and also stars Dominic Thorne, Michaela Cowell, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livanale.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled for release on November 11, 2022. Ryan Coogler returns to direct Part Two and is also developing a new Marvel TV series for Disney+ that also takes place in the Wakanda universe. The film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Cole, Florence Kasumba, Tenoch Huerta and Martin Freeman.
On a related note, Wolverine finally joined Funko’s Comic Cover Pop series recently and was followed by the Black Panther Comic Cover Funko Pop is based on the cover of issue #7, which was released in January of 1978.
